The major problem associated to split ends is that they restrict the normal hair growth and snatches away the glossy look. You can get rid off split ends and get back the glossy look of your hair naturally. Some of the effective home remedies for split ends are listed below:
- The Wonder Mayonnaise: With the help of your palm apply a dollop of mayonnaise on your head and massage gently. Allow it to stand for at least 4-10 minutes and then wash it off. For best results it is better to keep it for 1 hour.
- Use Shampoo Minimally: It is advisable not to shampoo your hair daily. The harsh chemicals of shampoo strips off the natural oils from hair and make them look dry and dull. It’s better to go for mild shampoo or for dry and damaged hair.
- The Beer Effect: In case you are not satisfied with the wonder mayonnaise then you can opt for beer spray. Beer spray acts as a wonderful setting lotion and it also gives your dull and lifeless hair a crisp, shiny and healthy look. After shampooing and towel drying your hair spray beer on your hair and style your hair.
- Regular Conditioning: Regular conditioning of your dull and lifeless hair is very essential. With regular shampooing the protective covering/cuticle gets peeled off hence resulting in spilt ends. Make sure that you condition your hair after shampoo. Conditioner lubricates the hair shaft and glues back the cuticle as well as it prevents your hair from frizzy appearance.
- Say No to Heat: It is better to avoid the use of heat appliances such as curlers, blow-dryers and electric irons. Try using primitive methods like unheated plastic rollers, sponge rollers or moist braid for curling and straightening your hair.
- Keep Your Head Covered: It is better to keep your head covered when going out especially on windy or sunny day. You can use hat, cap or scarf for the purpose; this will protect your hair from drying out.
