Home Remedies for Skin Rashes

Inflammation on the skin is usually known as body rash or skin rash. Skin rash is generally associated with changes in skin texture and color on the affected area. On the affected area you might experience burning and stinging sensation. An allergic reaction, irritation or disease can result in skin rash. Some times climatic changes can also develop skin or body rash. The following article discusses some of the effective home remedies for treating skin rashes.

Natural Remedies for Skin Rashes:

  • Washing the affected area with chamomile tea is one of the effective home remedies for skin rashes. In a cup of boiling water, steep 2-3 dried or fresh chamomile flowers. Allow it to cool down and strain it before using.
  • Oatmeal bath is the best home remedy for curing body rashes. Add a cup of un-cooked oatmeal to your bathwater and immerse your body in it. Relax for 10-15 minutes, this remedy not only cures your rashes but also provides instant relief.
  • Application of olive oil directly on the affected area is another effective natural remedy for skin rashes. Due to the therapeutic qualities of olive oil it penetrates deep inside the skin and treats the skin rash.
  • Apply freshly extracted Aloe Vera gel on the affected area. This skin rash remedy is effective in giving immediate relief from burning and stinging sensation.
  • For immediate relief from the irritation caused due to skin rash you can apply baking soda on the affected area. After applying it on the affected area gently press it.
  • Take 10-15 basil leaves and blend them with 2 garlic cloves and 1 tbsp of olive oil. Apply this mixture on the affected area. The therapeutic properties of basil leaves, garlic and olive oil make it an excellent home remedy for skin rashes.
  • Take a cotton ball or cloth and dip it in comfrey or calcium water and place it on the affected area. Besides providing instant relief from the irritation it also reduces the inflammation.
  • Take handful of dandelion, yellow dock root and chaparral. Prepare a puree of these herbs. Now with the help of a bandage or cheesecloth prepare a poultice of this puree and apply it on the affected area. This is an effective herbal remedy for skin rashes.
  • Vitamin C plays an important role in treating body rashes. Hence it is advisable to increase your intake of foods rich in vitamin C.
  • Lastly it is important that you avoid prolonged exposure of the affected area to direct sunlight, hot water, cosmetics and other skin irritants. It is also advisable to avoid rubbing and scratching of the skin.
