Benefits of Raisins

Often, raisins are considered as nature’s candy. Raisins are dehydrated grapes which are heat dried or dried in mechanical oven. Raisins are of several types, which include – Thompson seedless, Muscant, Zante Currant, Monukka, Malaga and Sultana. Although, raisins are dry fruits, they are very sweet and have wrinkle texture. These are great snacks for children instead of candies. These are known for several health benefits. Following are some benefits of raisins.

Benefits of Raisins:

  • Anemia:

    Raisins have high amounts of iron, which is very efficient in treating anemia.Vitamin B complex present in raisins helps in the formation of blood. This enhances the blood and assists in treating anemic patients. Raisins also contain copper which helps in promoting red blood cells formation.

    Raisins are used in treating constipation. This is an ancient remedy for this problem. Soak a handful of raisins in a glass of water for 24 – 48 hours and have this water in the morning with an empty stomach. These are given to kids as they help in easing chronic constipation.
