Natural Remedies for Itch Relief
Itching is the most irritating skin conditions. This not only puts you off and distracts you, it makes you embarrassed when you start scratching in the public places. It can be caused by poison ivy, winter dryness or bug bite. Itching should be treated in the early stages itself, else the condition worsens by scratching continuously. This article gives natural remedies which are best for treating itchiness. These natural remedies do not have any adverse effects.
Natural Remedies for Itch Relief:
Following are some natural remedies for getting relief from itchiness.
Whenever you suffer from uncontrolled itchiness, put a drop of tea tree or lavender essential oils at the affected areas and gently massage the region. As both the oils are mild, one need not dilute them prior to application. For fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, one can use tea tree oil.
The best and effective remedy for itch relief is aloe vera. One must peel off the green layer from the leaves and apply this gel on the affected skin directly and leave it for sometime.
If you experience itching over large area, oatmeal bath is an effective remedy. Add 1 – 2 cups of oatmeal to the warm bath water and soak yourself. One can also tie oatmeal in cheesecloth and can use it as a loofah for gently scrubbing the itchy area.
If itching is due to bug bite, use baking soda. Prepare paste with baking soda and water. Apply the mixture directly on the itchy area and leave it undisturbed. As the paste dries, it falls off and simultaneously the itchiness reduces. If itching is over a large area, add 1 – 2 cups of baking soda for warm bath water and soak yourself in bath tub.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
For getting rid of itching one can also use apple cider vinegar. Add one part of water and half a part of apple cider vinegar and prepare a pate. Rinse the affected area with solution. This gives immediate relief from the itching.
