How to Treat Measles Naturally

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease. This is also known as Rubeola. Measles symptoms include rashes, runny nose, watery eyes, fever and even cough. Koplik’s spots is the characteristic feature of measles. Koplik’s spots are tiny red spots with blue-white centers which appear in the mouth. Another common feature is sensitivity to bright spots. This symptom is noticed in children. Measles are known for full body rash that it causes. Usually, this is reddish-brown blotchy appearance. Initially, it appears on the face, neck and around the ears and then spreads to feet. This rashes last for a week.

How to Treat Measles Naturally?

  • Have a glass of fresh orange juice when struck with measles. This is an efficient remedy to recover from measles. Consume nearly 2 glasses of orange juice in a day.
  • It is believed that even lemon juice is an effective remedy for measles. Take 15 – 25 ml of lemon juice which is diluted with water.
  • Every day consume a glass of barley water. This is another good natural remedy for measles.
  • Have bath with lukewarm water. To the bathing water, you can also neem leaves. This gives relief from itching.
  • Seeds of eggplant are also effective in treating this condition. For three days, take ½ – 1 gram of eggplant seeds on the daily basis.
  • Mix ½ tablespoon each of honey and licorice and take it every day. This is the most beneficial natural remedy for those suffering from measles.
  • Powder dried roots of turmeric. Mix ½ tablespoon of this powder to the juice of bitter gourd leaves and honey and drink it. This is another useful remedy for measles.
  • Mix equal quantities of turmeric and tamarind seeds and ground them into powder. For three days, have this mixture in a dose of 350 – 400 grams.
  • Take a balanced diet. This is also efficient in treating measles. Avoid junk foods, milk products and spicy foods.
