Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining. It is a mild inflammation, infection or irritation of the lining of the stomach. It can be either a chronic or sudden attack. Gastritis can be due to viral or bacterial infection. It also caused by the excess secretion of stomach acids due to heavy alcohol consumption, smoking, caffeine and improper diet like greasy and spicy foods. Stress and use of certain drugs also cause gastritis.

Licorice:
