How to Cure Canker Sores Naturally

Canker sores may be described as the small, painful sores in the upper throat or mouth. These are yellowish and white in color and develop on the lining of the mouth which is surrounded by redness. This condition is also called

mouth ulcers and Aphthous Stomatitis

. They result in discomfort particularly while talking and eating. They are recurring and may appear after healing. Canker sores are not contagious and don’t spread from an individual to another.

Canker sores are caused due to several causes – indigestion, stress, tension, eating a particular type of food, nutrients deficiency, etc. However, this is not a serious condition and can be healed easily. Following lines gives some natural cures for canker sores.

Natural Cures for Canker Sores:

  • Coat the canker sores with honey. Leave it for sometime and later salivate it. This is the most effective natural cure for canker sores.
  • It is also believed that carob juice is also very beneficial in treating mouth ulcers.
  • The most effective way to treat ulcers is to apply raw onion juice on the sores.
  • Another simple natural cure is aloe vera gel. Apply aloe gel on the sores.
  • Gargle with barley tea or salt solution. This is another best cure for canker sores.
  • Soak coriander leaves in water for 5 minutes. Strain it and can use it as a mouth wash. This is the most effective remedy for canker sores.
  • Take more tomatoes and fresh papaya. This gives relief from mouth ulcers.
  • Coat raw tehina on the ulcers. This gives relief from sores.
  • Boil ½ a liter of water and for 10 minutes, steep 2 tablespoons of Marjoram in it. Strain water and gargle with it for 3 – 4 times per day.
  • Tea tree oil helps in healing mouth ulcers. Apply it on the mouth ulcers before going to sleep.
  • While suffering from canker sores, one is advised to brush the teeth with baking soda. This is so because many toothpastes have ‘sodium laurel sulfate’ that alleviates the condition.
  • To a cup of warm water, add a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of soda. Gargle with this solution in the morning and before sleeping.
